There were plenty of windmills to see. Pierre found out that they were an important part of the economy as they served many purposes. Prince Pierre liked the idea that the wind is free!

Holly and Pierre visited the Tack Shop. The Prince found a horse that was a bit more his size, but it didn't have enough "spirit" for him . . .
neth12
Prince Pierre thought they had strange totem poles here in Holland. Then he remembered about the wooden shoes that FROG gave him when visiting Holland, MI

A perfect fit!

neth14
It makes perfect sense here in Holland to carry your car with you on your canal boat. The canal runs parallel to the road and there a ramps available so you just park the boat and drive away in the car. AWESOME!

Pierre spends some time with the group's hosts, Anna Mae and Jan Aarts. The Prince enjoyed their collection of pigs that can be seen at the rear of the picture. They live on a horse farm with their son Maarten in the town of
Sint Oedenrode . . .
Here in Holland, as throughout Europe, the bicycle is an important method of transportation. Special paths are setup and well maintained for their use. Here a group of children are on their way to school. They have the right-of-way and at times traffic has to wait a long time for the kids to pass.
Many buildings in the countryside have a combination of half thatched-half tiled roofs . . .

There are many small draw bridges over the canals that open a few times during the week to let the water traffic through.

Even HRH Prince Pierre has to pass through security at the airport in Amsterdam as he prepares to head for home.

Susan took Prince Pierre to visit a local shrine outside the town of Helmud. The Prince had never seen water fountains setup like this for drinking and washing . . .
Prince Pierre de la Ponde would like to thank his hosts for such a wonderful and educational trip, Holland is such a beautiful country full of friendly people (and great horses too!). One can just imagine what the country looks like when its famous tulips are in bloom.
I wonder where Pierre's off to next?
Looks like...Australia!
